LEADing the Future
The Michigan Gates Project, "Leading the Future," is a collaborative effort of the Michigan K-12 education community, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This initiative provides leadership development for 4000 superintendents and principals in Michigan, focusing on systems change and technology integration. As part of this initiative GoKnow created the GoLEAD Channel, an information resource for principals and superintendents, accessed through handheld computers. Ongoing support for the Channel is provided by GoKnow, which selects and "palmizes" relevant articles and information sources to provide K-12 administrators with the news they need to make more informed decisions throughout their day.

Learning Without Limits
Working with three regional school districts across Michigan, GoKnow is assisting hundreds of teachers and thousands of students to use Palm handheld computers in the classroom. GoKnow has developed customized workshops for teachers, administrators and information technology specialists to ensure that handheld technology will be used effectively in participating schools. Continuous teacher support through our web site ensures anytime, anywhere support for teachers and administrators.

Putnam City Schools
GoKnow has been working with the Putnam City School District in Oklahoma since 2001. After a very successful small scale professional development effort, the district expanded the Palm handheld implementation into a large high school. GoKnow has worked on both technical and professional development aspects of the program, helping to get 1,300 Palm computers in the hands of teachers and students.

MASSP
In partnership with the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) and Merit Network, Inc., GoKnow created GoObserve™, a Palm OS® based observation and scheduling tool that supports the teacher evaluation process.

Detroit Public Schools
GoKnow has negotiated site licenses for the use of ArtemisSM and Model It in Detroit Public Schools. The district uses GoKnow curriculum materials for middle school science that meet their science core curriculum standards. Use of these materials has significantly increased students’ pass rates on Michigan’s state science assessment. The District also has Palm handhelds for middle school science instruction for students to use GoKnow software. Nearly 100 teachers and 10,000 students use GoKnow software and materials.

American Education Corporation
AEC in partnership with GoKnow will integrate the Artemis research engine to present pre-selected web sites in its mid-level science content, and develop specific research modules utilizing Artemis research tools. The partnership with GoKnow and integration of Artemis tools into A+LS® will give AEC customers the unique ability to offer their students access to web sites that are pre-screened for appropriateness and are directly aligned to core content in a controlled manner, ensuring that Internet time is actually time-on-task. It will also provide them with access to a rich variety of directed Internet-based research projects, greatly enhancing the interactivity in the AEC instructional modules and providing exciting tools for inquiry-based learning.
